DJ Giannis Drosopoulos — DJ (Corfu)

I'm Giannis Drosopoulos, a Corfu-based DJ and radio producer with more than 30 years behind the decks. I started young as a radio producer on the island, and over the years I've moved between weddings, private events and some of the best-known bars and beach bars in Corfu and Greece — always with the same focus on smooth transitions and a mood that fits the moment.

A selector who grew up on radio

Outside of weddings I host City of Stars every Wednesday from 21:00 to 23:00 on Star FM 88.8 Corfu, playing mainstream, house and old-school favourites. That radio background shapes how I work a dancefloor: I treat a wedding set as storytelling, adapting the music to the sunset, the room and the crowd in front of me rather than running a fixed playlist.

Beyond Corfu

I've also worked and performed across Athens, Preveza, Igoumenitsa, Paxos, Thessaloniki and Larissa, building up experience across very different scenes and audiences — Greek summer islands, mainland city nightlife, intimate private parties and full destination weddings.

Corfu draws couples from all over Europe — and a destination wedding here usually means a multilingual guest list, a long day that runs from a ceremony at a private estate or hotel into a late dancefloor under the Ionian sky. I work with planners, venues and couples to map the music for each part of the day: a calm welcome, a confident first dance, and a reception that builds at the right speed.

Growing up on radio teaches you to read a moment. On City of Stars I move between mainstream, house and old-school hits, and that same instinct travels with me to every wedding and private event — when to hold back, when to bring a familiar chorus, when to let an Afro groove run a little longer.

The result is a set that feels continuous and danceable rather than track-by-track: smooth transitions, a clear arc through the evening, and a soundtrack that matches the people on the floor and the place we're in.
