Athensbeat — DJ (Athens)

Athensbeat is a professional DJ collective based in Athens, created in 2010 by Giannis Katsika — a DJ who has been working in the Athens club, bar and radio scene since 1989. The team now brings together experienced wedding, baptism, corporate and party DJs with 30+ years of combined experience in event music.

What we cover

We serve clients all over Greece and handle every type of social event: weddings, baptisms, birthday parties, openings, children's parties, karaoke nights, themed parties and corporate events. Every booking starts with a personal call to understand the music style, guest profile and venue, so the program is tailored — not a generic playlist.

Equipment & effects

We invest in professional, regularly upgraded sound and lighting systems, plus special effects when the venue allows: dance-floor light shows, smoke and dry-ice machines, indoor (cold) and aerial fireworks, and video projectors. Backup equipment travels to every event so the music never stops.

Before the wedding day we sit down (in person or by phone) to map out the whole evening: the entrance, the first dance, the cake cutting, the Greek set and the late-night dance floor. You can send us a "must play" and a "do not play" list, and we build the program around it.

On the day we arrive early to set up sound and lighting, do a soundcheck with the venue, and stay flexible — if the energy shifts, the set shifts with it. We also handle microphones for the maid of honour, best man and any speeches.
